Hello, we are Malcolm and Elaine Gray and together with trainee Head of Canine Services, Arthur, who is our Golden Retriever puppy, we are the owners of Lonan House suites.
Malcolm (as you may have guessed from the name) is a Scot, who after spending many years in exile has come home to bonny Scotland, while Elaine is a Sassenach from the north of England (almost Scotland), who has loved Scotland for many years. Both of us have spent a number of years working overseas which was an incredible experience, but we both knew in our hearts that we would come home one day.
Our goal is to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible and to that end this is also our home, so we can be available to our guests to help with questions about activities and trips and any other queries you may have.,

Lonan House is a “B listed” country house built in 1906 and designed by the renowned Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer. The house is considered a fine example of his work and hence the listing. In its lifetime, the house has been a private home, a hotel and latterly it was split into apartments.
​When we became the custodians of the house, our aim was to breathe new life into the apartments whilst maintaining the character of the building and the surrounding 28 acres of gardens and woodland. We believe that a house like this should be enjoyed by many people and due to its location we think it is an ideal base for anyone wishing to explore the beauty of the west coast of Scotland.
